Looking for feedback/collaboration on an educational web game for students (focus: engagement & learning design)

I’m currently building a browser-based educational game using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, targeted at students in my country. The goal is to make learning feel less like a chore and more like something students want to engage with daily — almost like a game or hobby.

The current system includes:

Quiz-driven progression (answers move the character forward/backward)

Timer and progress-based levels

Unlockable powers and rewards (coins, gems)

Chapter-based progression with story elements

However, I feel like something is still missing — not in terms of features, but in overall engagement and game feel. I want the experience to be:

More immersive during moment-to-moment interaction

Less “idle” while the player is thinking

More emotionally engaging (tension, reward, urgency)

At this stage, I’m not just looking for code-level feedback. I’m looking for:

Insights on game design for learning

Suggestions on improving engagement loops

Ideas for making the experience more addictive in a positive, educational way

Anyone willing to give honest, critical feedback on the concept

If you have experience or interest in:

Educational technology (EdTech)

Game design / gamification

UX for learning platforms

…I would really appreciate your perspective.

I can share a demo or walkthrough for anyone interested.

Thanks a lot 🙏
