I was working for three months on a healthtech startup company(<5 people) based in Greece as a junior Java developer.
I have been given tasks from a more senior dev on Jira.
I was executing these tasks.
However, the CEO(manager of IT) suggest me to ask for help and not 'fight' with ChatGPT or other AI language models when I had problems. However, if I would stuck on 'simple' things and asked for help, he was telling me 'take the initiative'.
Moreover, the CEO did not like that I did not know how the ecosystem of the app works. I was concentrated on Jira tasks and assumed that I would learn the ecosystem through these tasks, or I would learn it when a suitable task is given to me. I have tried to explain this things since I understood the disappointment of CEOs.Also, they never asked me directly to learn the ecosystem besides Jira tasks.
One week after the discussion CEO and senior dev were not on the company, there was some problem who needed IT support. I did not know or be taught how to solve IT problems and the salesperson was investigating me with an aggressive tone and blamed me for not stuck to the CEO and to the senior dev to learn these things. Also the salesperson was asking what is saying the job position I was hired.Anyway I thought I would learn these things through time and training.
Having all these situations I have quit the company.
I have ASD Asperger's (mild), and I am stressed about these "unspoken" rules. How are other companies in this field? Was my case quiet firing
