I’m interested in learning how to build projects using HTML Applications (HTA), especially because I enjoy older Windows technologies and would like to experiment with making simple games in this environment. I understand that HTA is considered legacy technology, but I’m still interested in exploring what it can do and how to use it correctly.
Right now, I’m having trouble finding reliable or up‑to‑date documentation. Most of the resources I’ve found are many years old, and I’m not sure which parts are still accurate for modern Windows systems. I’ve created a basic .hta file with titles and paragraphs but I’m not certain whether this is the correct approach or whether HTA supports features like HTML5 Canvas at all.
My goal is to understand the proper way to structure an HTA file today and to confirm whether HTML5 Canvas can be used inside an HTA window. I’m looking for minimal examples, explanations, or documentation references that can help me get started in the right direction. Any guidance would be appreciated.
